How come we don’t call the billionaires and millionaires that run this country, the Silicon Valley magnates, the Bushes, Kennedys, Clintons, Romneys, Rockefellers, even Trump oligarchs? How come these creeps who wield power out of the public view aren’t assigned a negative name?

I kind of like oligarchs. Has a negative connotation. Points out we aren’t any better than the Russians.
They ARE Oligarchs but because Oligarchs own the media here they get to be called philanthropists and businessmen instead of pirates and plunderers. I’m sorry you are having such a tough time. I will miss your posts. Take Care David.
Thanks. You hit the nail on the head. This goes beyond the usual political charctetizationd and labels, like “liberal” or “conservative” that we are comfortable with or identify with. It is almost like we are living in a live remake of “Citizen Kane”. I’m just waiting to find out what “rosebud” means this time. I’m doing better, learning to detach.
