On a practical note, how will the financial markets react tomorrow or Monday? All the swell feelings and warm fuzzy’s about the election could signal the next Dystopia!
Good point. I don’t see a wave of optimism following, if this supposed “victory” holds. I think a sell-off will commence, with full blown bear market by Inauguration. The only thing Biden knows about money is how to steal it.
Trump is combative and abrasive. Any person would be if they are systematically slandered, and falsely accused of crimes, they either did not commit or never happened in the first place.
1) Colluding with the Russians in 2016.
2)Abusing his office in the famous Ukrainian phone call, to direct a prosecution within Ukraine.
Those are the first two that come to mind. The Mueller Report definitively disproves the first point.
The second point is disproven by the Hunter Biden laptop’s contents, which was in the custody of the FBI at the time of the impeachment.
Well, most of the report was redacted. Barr wouldn’t let it get out. Mueller was heavily limited in what he could say or do.
And it’s no secret that Trump owes a ton of money to Russia and everyone else.
He speaks very highly of Putin who has those who oppose him (especially if they’re running against him) murdered. What’s there to like, I wonder.
So that casts doubt on his intentions and motives, to me at least.
I’m confused about how he’s on a phone call with Woodward saying in a recording that he knows how deadly the virus is and that it even travels through the air… and then later fosters an atmosphere of blase and even hostility to wearing masks. The non-shifting nature of his popularity with some is baffling. Like nothing he does or says matters because….why? Why is he so loved?
I wouldn’t believe anything Bob Woodward writes about anybody or anything.U was not a Trump supporter at first.
Has your job been outsourced to China, India, Korea?
Would you rather have a job or a transfer payment of some sort from the government?
Do you think the government does all it can to protect your job and values?
Answer those questions. You might have some idea as to why Trump has the support that he has.
There is nothing in American foreign or trade policy to suggest he lets his personal business dealings compromise American interests, unlike Biden, who is strongly implicated in taking money from Russia, Ukraine, and China.
Donald Trump’s legitimacy as the lawfully elected POTUS had been challenged from the day he was elected. Government employees like Peter Stzrok have sought to undermine his Presidency. There is evidence from Stzrok texts to Lisa Page that President Obama was aware of the efforts to thwart his election by government rmployees in 2016. (Hatch Act?)
Do you want to hear about the unlawfully obtained FISA warrants by Obama officials against Carter Page and other innocent Americans.?
There have been lies spread about President Trump since he first announced his candidacy in 2015. Maybe you ought to ask yourself why Speaker Pelosi, Sen Schumer, and the rest of the top tier Democrats hate him so much? You should ask yourself why the Republican establishment of The Bushes, Mitt Romney, and others hate Trump do much?
Trump is respected and admired by his supporters, in large part, due to the enemies he has made.
Trump is an outsider. That scares the Clintons, Bushes, Obama, Biden. There is a leadership elite in this country. Trump is the threat to that elite.
Just look at the money Wall Street gave to Biden. Look at the indifference that greeted Sec Clinton in 2016 and V-P Biden this year.
Do you really think Bill Gates, Jeff Zuckerburg and the rest of the tech oligarchs care about you, except as a source of information and cash?
Whoa, I asked and you answered! I hear you, and thanks for responding.
I must digest your points and will respond in kind soon. I appreciate your openness (or whatever it’s called these days).
Oh yes. The complete misread of the source of Trump’s popularity still dogs his critics. There’s more I didn’t get to, such as how enforcement of immigration laws has improved the employment situation of minorities and lawfully admitted immigrants.

This is a huge topic which isn’t easily addressed. I’d prefer any discussion we may have doesn’t turn into “he said/she said” so I’m weighing my responses carefully. But before I get there–soon–and IF you’re interested, still, of course (sorry; it’s chaos at work and I barely have the brain power to think about anything else after the day’s done, lol) let me just quickly refer to your first sentence about not believing Woodward. The problem is is the President’s voice was on a recording saying he knew how deadly the virus was. It’s not anything that Woodward said himself.
I also wasn’t aware that Bob Woodward, who revealed all of Nixon’s shenanigans, was considered someone worthy of such blase dismissal. Is he not considered a top-notch journalist?
I’m in the computer. Where I work. Should be working.
But just wanted to say really fast: True. Woodward has his targets, let’s say.
But…it doesn’t diminish what Trump knew ahead of time about the virus.
Which he could have done a lot of good with.
So the concrete steps President Trump took, e .g. Travel bans in January, etc count for nothing becsuse, quite frankly, you want to believe Trump did nothing. How many COVID patients did he stick in nursing homes like Gov Cuomo (D’NY) did?
As you said, these discussions can easily degenerate into “hesaid/she said”. Sad. As far as I concerned, there is nothing more to say.
David- it takes dogged determination to unravel any well thought out conspiracy. I feel you are just the person up to the task. Trump has been attacked since he first took office. 4 years later the media has a love affair with the buffoon that the media rushed to declare the winner.
Thanks. I’m keeping my eyes open. Most disturbing of recent trends in the media is pretending the voter fraud perpetrated didn’t happen,, or that any fraud was minor, with no impact on the outcome.
Oh, yeah. It is as if the reporters laid off at Pravda when the USSR collapsed all found work at CNN & MSNBC. And now Fox.

Blog’s back?
Why is it voter fraud? Trump won in 2016 and people who didn’t vote for him or think he could possibly win just stood in a daze, incredulous, but didn’t claim voter fraud.
He was duly elected.
I don’t think you guys are up for discussion though. This feels like a private club.
Blog is not back. The allegations the Trump people are making are substantiated by affidavits citing the irregularities, and violations of electoral law.
Private club? No. I speak only for myself. I am sick of it all. If the challenges are dismissed and Biden is declared the President-elect by the Electoral College when it convenes, then so be it.
Sorry, but you put it well, when you characterized the debate as “he said/ she said”. Let the challenges be adjudicated.
End of discussion.
a new era will begin soon

My feelings exactly. Regardless of Trump’s personality, the financial markets ran rather smoothly. For a change.
Trump is combative and abrasive. Any person would be if they are systematically slandered, and falsely accused of crimes, they either did not commit or never happened in the first place.
Amen
What was Trump falsely accused of?
1) Colluding with the Russians in 2016.

Sorry. I clicked “notify me of comments” sometime in the past, so I keep seeing them and keeping chiming in, OCD-like. But I think I gotcha. Thanks.
Sure. I’ve said all I’m going to say. Just exhausted.
