Oh yeah. My oldest in 19 and from the time he was 3 he sat with rapt attention listening to the soothing voices of the narrator. The only time during the day I knew where he was, and not getting into mischief.
I grew up in the era of Captain Kangaroo, Romper Room, The Three Stooges and Popeye. We loved the mayhem of the Stooges. We knew Mother didn’t approve. It was a 6 year odd’s act of rebellion. We later went on to burn villages in Vietnam and blow up buildings on campus.
My boys loved Thomas the Tank Engine when they were growing up. The earlier ones were better, with Ringo Starr and George Carlin.
