Christmas is over, unless you are Russian Orthodox. To the Russians it hasn’t even started yet.
Every year of late, I feel like I’ve flunked Christmas. No tree, lights, presents. I have no motivation for any of that.
So there you have it.

Every year of late, I feel like I’ve flunked Christmas. No tree, lights, presents. I have no motivation for any of that.
So there you have it.
I know how you feel. When I get like that I watch the 1951 version of Scrooge. Puts my emotional situation in perspective. It works for me.
OK. There’s a deep hurt here.
David sorry to hear that. Wish i could offer more. Happy New Year.
Happy New Year
I just go through the motions for my husband…it’s just another day to me.
Wish it were different
Me too, but it is what it is. When one is surrounded by negativity, it’s hard to get enthused about anything.
Or a house full of actual trash
I am with you on that. No tree, did not open all the cards sent to us. The only lights we had on were the ones still hanging on the house from last year. Working really long days up to, and including, Xmas eve just makes me detest the run up. Noone was visiting, the wife went to mauritius with her son, I went to my daughter’s house to watch my grand daughter open her presents. Xmas is all about the joy of children.
Children is for whom secular Christmas exists. The religious Christmas is special to be sure, but I contemplate The Nativity whenever I pray the Third Joyful Mystery. Right now in Western Culture, we neglect The Nativity far too easily in December.
