Oh, I remember those!! 🙂
Those, ahem, “trees” were in such bad taste that they acquired an aura about them. They were the embodiment of the early SIixties. It was the perfect tree for a fallout shelter.
Lol, yes, exactly! They’re kind of like the leg lamp from that movie about the little kid at Xmas! Your remember the one i mean, right? It might have been called The Christmas Story. But it’s the one with the kid who wants the b b gun and someone – his mother, maybe? keeps saying he’s gonna put someone’s
eye out with that.
A Christmas Story, from a wonderful Jean Shepherd story, Red Ryder Nails The Cleveland Street Kid. He put some other stories in the film from his book In God We Trust All Others Pay Cash. Shepherd (he liked to be called “Shep”) was the narrator in the film.
